The Brief
After purchasing one of the oldest farmhouses in the “Canale di Pirro”, within the Selva di Fasano, featuring six traditional cones, a client approached us for assistance with their extensive renovation project for this abandoned property. The goal was to restore the property and building five bedrooms and four bathrooms in the place where the old barns and storage areas stood. The client aimed to utilize the spacious surroundings outside to create a pool, a barbecue area and a pizza oven, envisioning them as excellent features for a charming events venue.
The Strategy
Apulian Investing oversaw the construction site keeping the client, who resides outside of Italy, informed through photographic and descriptive progress reports on the renovation work. On behalf of the client, we interfaced with the builders both for the initially planned phase of work and for the additional decisions made during the project. AI’s project manager monitored all construction activities to ensure that any direction, feedback or decisions required on site could be provided in a timely manner.
Highlights
Thanks to the close communication among AI Project Manager, client and all the involved suppliers, we were able to transform the deteriorated spaces within the farmhouse into uniquely charming and absolutely fantastic rooms. The garage has been converted into an independent self- contained apartment overlooking the valley. All rooms have retained many original details that were expertly contextualized and enhanced. For example, we managed to preserve the authentic farmhouse flooring through a restoration process followed by custom treatments. The client opted for a futuristic and innovative design that seamlessly blends with the rustic and timeless charm of the farmhouse. The Masseria has recently been featured with a dedicated article on Linda, one of the most popular magazines in Netherlands.
